Described in the Guardian as "a beautiful portrait of a beautiful life", Ray Monk´s superb biography of Wittgenstein brought his work to the attention of a new generation of non-philosophers. As well as being very well-written, it is deeply philosophically informed, and by situating the work firmly in the context of the life, it provides valuable new insights into Wittgenstein´s thought.
